Position Overview
We are looking for a Tutor & Family Assistant to work closely with one of the managing partners' provide academic and day-to-day support for their children.
The main responsibility of this role is to take ownership of the children’s schoolwork, homework, studying, and academic organization. The children follow the IB curriculum, so strong English skills, a solid academic background is required, and familiarity with the IB curriculum is a plus.
The role will also include some family-support responsibilities such as helping plan children’s birthdays and activities such as gift bags, organizing schedules, and handling occasional small errands, futhermore taking over all communication with school and school related activities including kids soccer, mom groups, etc
Key Responsibilities
School & Academic Support — Main Responsibility
- Take ownership of the children’s daily school and homework needs.
- Provide tutoring and academic support across relevant subjects.
- Support children with their IB coursework and assignments.
- Help explain concepts, review schoolwork, and ensure assignments are completed properly and on time.
- Assist with projects, presentations, essays, and research assignments.
- Help children prepare for quizzes, tests, and exams.
- Keep track of homework, assignments, exams, projects, and school deadlines.
- Help establish and maintain an organized study routine.
- Monitor academic progress and communicate any concerns or areas requiring additional support to the parents.
- Help children develop strong study, organization, and time-management habits.
- Family & Children’s Support
Help organize children’s birthdays, celebrations, and activities
assist with planning and coordinating children’s schedules.
-Handle occasional small errands related to the children or family.
Requirements
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Previous experience as a tutor, teacher, academic assistant, nanny, family assistant, or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with the IB curriculum is strongly preferred.
- Strong academic background and ability to support students with their schoolwork.
- Comfortable working with children and teenagers.
- Patient, responsible, trustworthy, and dependable.
- Highly organized with excellent time-management skills.
- Proactive and able to work independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience working with IB students or in an international school or as a personal assistant is a strong advantage.
- A valid driver’s license is a plus.
